Boat(s): Yellow Pyranha S6
Kit: Red BA and helmet, Blue palm cag, Lendal paddle although I should probably get a new one and other stuff.
Favourite things about paddling: Its all good. Getting the adrenaline going down something, or just being on the water on a nice day. Also when you see that its raining, you can think about doing a river and everyone else that doesn't paddle is miserable.
Favourite river: The river Kent is fun.
Favourite paddling moment: Dunno. I've had loads of good moments paddling. Recently getting out of a nasty hole in Scotland was a great feeling, as I was shitting myself side surfing in it.
Favourite things about Aberystwyth: Lots of pubs. Its by the sea. What more could you ask for.
Last swim (at time of writing): Wish I had taken a swam in France or Slovenia so I could put up a good story of an impressive river. But it was on the Tryweren, at the cafe wave. That was a few years ago though. I remember clinging to the bank because I didn't want to be washed down the next part.
Ever been given the annual Fu*kwit award?: No. Maybe next year.
Biggest cockup: I cant think of anything major to write down. Sorry.
Local home spot: Chatburn pond, with the Calder as my nearest river. Teeside maybe as the nearest play spot.
Pre-paddling tunage: I've got a good range of tapes in my car. I listen usually to normal rock stuff, but sometimes you need some fun songs about dinosaurs before a river.
Other sports: I don't do much any more. I used to play rugby and cricket.

The Vice President
Name: Rebecca Jayne Hayes :S
Nacknames: becci, becci boogles bon bon, becks, blond/bimbo/DB
Course: fine art
Year: 2
Years paddling: 7-8 (maybe cant really remember but I know its been a long time)
Boat(s): beautiful yellow sub 7, it is becoming rather thin around the bottom area though so I may be back with a new boat, something a lot shorter hopefully ; )
Kit: I own a random assortment of bargain buys and oh dearie me none of it seems to match! Although there is one piece of kit that I love lots which is my sexy blue Werner paddles. I had previously been stuck with heavy plastic ones for years and until I was trusted not to let go of them underwater (no matter how many times they bent!) I couldn't have anything else, so getting these was a big step and I'm rather proud of them?.err delta pro BA, pyranha deck, blue helmet, cag with recently fitted dry seals (tuther ones mostly comprised of the god of all tapes - gaffa!), a pair of very very very smelly and usually moist wetsuit shoes, semi dry pants, thermal leggings (yay o yay), wetsuit, wetsuit shorts and boardies for on top and finally a jumble of rash vests to keep my belly warm!
Favourite things about paddling: everything! I love setting out on an adventure with your mates, the water (splish splosh eek weeeeeeee!), forgetting about uni bum and everything else and the adrenalin feeling I get from either a really mean piece of water or from finding somewhere incredibly beautiful I know I would never have had the chance to see if I didn't paddle, which for me is asteromical!
Favourite things about Aberystwyth: my friends, sun, sea and surf! I love the fact that everywhere I go, even if it's just in popping down to town I'll most likely bump into someone I know. I love all the old dears here who always talk to me ooh and the mass of charity shops available that are perfect for getting kitted out for one of our fantastic themed socials, and the huge variety of pubs (DRINK!) which if you plan it right can lead you to a very cheap drunken night! ; ) and I even love the big hill as it's the perfect sobering up walk!
Pre-paddling tunage: im a bit of a tunage slut and tend to go for anything, but if I'm off kayaking I do love to have a bit o 2 unlimited, cotton eyed joe or pendulum pumped out loud to get me in the mood! Or then again anything loud with a phat bass line, occasionally I get out some of my fantastically crappy tapes featuring the likes of smurfs go pop! And Barbie girl!
Other sports:climbing, swimming, bit o rambling here and there and finally the 2 best types of golf ; pub and Frisbee!
